Searching for Mary
Introduction
John was tired. He missed Mary’s laugh. Her sudden disappearance hurt him deeply. John managed an office job, but that day, he left work early hoping to unravel the mystery surrounding her.

He held her red scarf tightly. It was the only link to her now. John believed in finding answers in small clues. Mary often said, “Life is a puzzle, solved in tiny pieces.”
The Mysterious Scarf
The scarf was warm and soft. John remembered how it complimented Mary’s bright smile. As he walked through the park, memories flooded in. That was their favorite spot. They often sat and watched sunsets together.
He checked the scarf where it was found. He hoped it revealed more than cotton and wool. John’s patience was thin, but his hope was strong.

He found a small piece of paper stuck to the scarf. It had a handwritten number and a single word: “Answer.” Perhaps, it was Mary’s clue, or someone’s trick?
Following Clues
John called the number. His hands shook as he waited. Breathing deep, he prepared himself for anything, even silence. A woman answered. Her voice was soft, but not Mary’s. “How can I help you?” she asked.
“I found your number with a scarf,” John replied, still hopeful. Silence followed, then the woman spoke. “Meet me at the café near the station. I might have answers.”

The café was not far. John visited often with Mary. As he walked there, the crisp air filled his lungs, calming him. It was a journey he must take alone.
A Cafe Meeting
The café was warm, filled with chatter and the smell of fresh coffee. John sat in a corner, watching the door. Every opening brought anticipation. Would it lead him closer to Mary?
Minutes later, a woman entered. She had kind eyes. She sat across John. “You seek Mary,” she said softly. “I am her friend, Emily.”
John listened as Emily explained. Mary left town suddenly, needing space. “She cares for you,” Emily assured. “But she needs time.”
The Road Ahead
John thanked Emily. He understood life’s challenges shape decisions. Mary would return when ready, or maybe not. He had to respect her journey.
He walked away from the café, feeling a mix of relief and sadness. The sky was turning orange, just like he remembered during sunsets with Mary.
John knew now, love was patient. Love was understanding the deep need for space. His life was richer having known Mary, even if alone now.
